Expertise and Innovation Centre Barging (EICB)
The Expertise and Innovation Centre Barging (EICB) is the programme office of non-profit organization SPB (Stichting Projecten Binnenvaart). Its dedicated team makes considerable effort to ensure the Inland Waterway Transport (IWT) sector is more innovative, sustainable and competitive. Strong accumulation of expert knowledge, wide experience in policy development and availability of professional dissemination skills to trigger involvement of the wider sector, form the essence of the team. This way EICB is able to create valuable impacts together with partners from the industry, vessel operators, sector organisations and (inter)national public bodies.
EICB carries a strong record in participating in (European) projects such as Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, CEF, LIFE and Interreg as coordinator, dissemination leader or expert partner. Also the team is a much sought-after partner in a wide array of projects and programmes on local, regional and national level.
Members of EICB regularly appear on panel discussions, expert meetings and popular news channels on topics such as financing the greening transition, digitalisation, modal shift and other logistical innovation opportunities.
