Vision

By 2030, digitisation and automation will also lead to the use of advanced design and production technologies, which will deliver flexible and cost-effective vessels and offshore structures with competitive production costs and high productivity. They will, furthermore, contribute to realizing a whole production chain of safe, competitive and eco-friendly shipyards and production sites. They will enable European shipyard to master the increasing complexity of ships, maintaining their leadership on specialized ships and to increase their market share on new ships of other types.

Mission

The waterborne sector will be world leader in design, engineering, construction and maintenance of ships, equipment and integrated complex systems in high value ships throughout their lifecycle.

The European waterborne industry will provide ship-owners with the greenest and most innovative ships in accordance with the highest technical standards. The industry will provide a safe working environment with zero accident target and long term job creation through the local networks. The shipyards and production yards will ensure green operation with zero emissions to the environment and 100% recycling of production waste and decommissioning.

The complexity of construction of a ship or other floating devices requests quality in design, engineering and construction. The various segments of the blue economy offer a potential for further growth of the sector but at the same time demand the capability to manufacture a large range of products thus requiring specifically tailored productions.
