The Port and Maritime Sector: Key Developments and Challenges

Two-day international conference on the latest developments in maritime shipping and ports, targeting business practitioners, policy makers and scientists from around the world, hosted by: The Special Interest Group A2 (Ports and Maritime) of the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS) Department of Transport and Regional Economics, University of Antwerp, Belgium

2 May 2018 - 4 May 2018

The conference starts with a visit of the Port of Antwerp on 2 May PM. On 3 and 4 May, two full days of presentations and discussion sessions in an international program will be hosted, from a selection of global abstracts submitted earlier. Sessions will feature among others following topics:

  • Maritime trade and forecasting
  • Ship emissions
  • Port energy issues
  • Maritime and port digitalization and big data use
  • Port and maritime security
  • Maritime and port innovation
  • Hinterland transport solutions, bundling and synchromodality
  • Cruise business
  • Terminal operations
  • Port capacity investments

120 contributions will be presented in a series of parallel tracks.
