  • D3.2 - Assignation of Knowledge needs to Competence Nodes

The research funding landscape in Europe and even worldwide is diverse and fragmented, but some key statements can be made with regard to European knowledge needs in marine and maritime research.

  • D3.3 - Mapping Report of possible interrelationships, inter-linkages and dependencies of prioritized knowledge gaps and needs of the focus areas combined

This document is providing an overview on common gaps and needs in the marine and maritime field. Based on the feedback from the Competence Nodes (CNs), which represent the COLUMBUS focus areas, linkages and common needs have been identified between nearly all CNs.

  • D4.1 - Inventory of Relevant Projects by Priority Focus Area

This document identifies relevant research results, known as Knowledge Outputs (KOs), that could support Blue Growth and the implementation of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD; the environment pillar of the Integrated Maritime Policy) and the revised Common Fisheries Policies (CFP).

  • D4.3 - Report on KO’s identification

The vital aim of the Knowledge Supply step is to collect relevant Knowledge Outputs from EC research projects, the cornerstones of the COLUMBUS project, to inform WP5 and WP6 as to promote the transfer of those with higher potential to realise an impact in the context of the Blue Growth and Marine and Maritime Governance.

  • D5.2 - Progression of Knowledge Outputs To Knowledge Transfer

This report aims to illustrate how the Knowledge Output Pathway (KOP) informs COLUMBUS decision to move a Knowledge Output down through the pathway to achieve impact. It will be explained the relevance of KOP components to decide to go ahead with the next step in the transfer process or not, and how the KOP should feed the design and implementation of a Knowledge Transfer Plans.

  • D7.1 - Dissemination and Exploitation Plan, including website

The COLUMBUS Dissemination and Exploitation Plan (DEP) describes the activities to be performed and the dissemination and exploitation means to be used in order to promote COLUMBUS, and to disseminate and exploit the project objectives, activities and results.

  • D7.5 - Blue Society Award Rules

The COLUMBUS project partners believe that by implementing an award system that rewards added value and increased efforts by researchers, it can initiate a change that also motivates and incentivises researchers to want to carry out and transfer research knowledge for societal benefits.

  • D8.1 - Report on current metrics for research performance

This report contains a review of traditional and current metrics of success for researchers and research performing organisations to understand the current landscape. It also contains interviews of representatives from progressive organisations responding to the broader role of science in society. The identification of roles and responsibilities of researchers in carrying out KT has been explored as well as any incentives and recognition for effective KT work.
